Barron McCann Ltd is an independent IT Service provider offering a range of award-winning EPoS & IT support services from help desk through to rapid response on-site repair and maintenance; our customers are some of the most prestigious names within Retail, Hospitality and Banking.  We have an excellent reputation for great service and are now seeking a Configuration Engineer to join our Team.


The role will be instrumental in ensuring the department is able to provide effective staging / configuration services for our customers, whilst being part of a focused team to complete these services on time, on budget and to the required quality and specification.


Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality customer service to ensure all technical aspects of projects are understood
  • Communicate effectively with both customers and internal project teams
  • Provide a primary point of Technical support for the PIDS project team
  • Provide a point of technical escalation for field-based engineering as and when required
  • Demonstrate a precise approach to time and task management
  • Support the activities of the Build Manager by assisting in task allocation for the team
  • Develop close working relationships with key areas of the business
  • Report effectively on the status of ongoing projects to line management
  • Identify opportunities for improving departmental performance
  • Employ a continuous improvement ethos across all aspects of own and team performance
  • Contribute to improvements in efficiency and key performance indicators for the department
  • Conform to existing quality best practices and enhance compliance where gaps are identified


Required Skill Sets

  • Demonstrate a flair for problem solving of an IT nature
  • Be competent in the use of Microsoft windows products and other operating systems
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure and imaging / deployment tools is an advantage
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Thorough with excellent attention to detail
  • An ability to work under pressure, in isolation or as part of a team while remaining professional, flexible, focused and committed throughout
  • Ability to work to a deadline
