Team Barron McCann Complete the Derby 10K for Age UK
We are pleased to announce that Team Barron McCann successfully completed the Virtual Derby 10K in aid of Age UK and Derbyshire.
Derby’s popular annual 10K was due to take place on Sunday 29th March however the event was cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Team Barron McCann completed the 10,000-metre distance by running four laps of Markeaton Park on a bright and sunny Sunday morning. The course had a few challenging hills which became steeper as the laps went on. However, the beautiful autumnal surroundings and sunshine made them much more bearable.
Angela Barnes, Fundraising Manager said; “Many older people in our community are feeling incredibly isolated and the charity is doing its best to keep our services running to continue to support them. Age UK Derby & Derbyshire are very grateful to the team from Barron McCann for their help and commitment to the charity at this difficult time.”
Barron McCann has raised £475 so far and would like to thank everyone that has donated. All money raised for Age UK Derby and Derbyshire is spent in Derbyshire or Derby City to help local older people love later life. If you would like to make a donation please click here.
